Everything below is a starting point. Any stone can be shaped, sized and lettered to suit, or designed with you entirely from the first sketch. All lettering and photography is included in the price of the stone.
A selection from our yard, and a starting point rather than the whole range. We also make tropical green and other coloured granites, and heart memorials in single and double designs. Visit us in Bishopbriggs to see the full range in daylight.

The enduring classic, deep, quiet and lasting, lettered in gilt or silver.

A soft blue-grey polish that sits beautifully in Scottish light.

Naturally split stone with pitched edges, honest to the quarry it came from.

Carved crosses in tropical green and other granites, including extra tall and wide.

Roses and traditional motifs, carved by hand and finished in colour.

Open-book and bible stones, lettered across the pages.
Where a cemetery's rules call for something lower, or where a quieter memorial feels right, we make granite lawn markers and cremation memorials in the same range of stones, matched, where you wish, to an existing family memorial.
If ashes are interred in a family lair, a new name can often simply be added to the stone already there. Our guide to cremation memorials explains the options.
Granite plaques, carved bibles and flower vases, as additions to an existing memorial or as small memorials in their own right. Vases are included when supplied with a new stone.
We also keep accessories in stock at the yard: flower inserts for plinths, engraved vases and plant holders, so a family stone can be kept tidy and cared for between visits.
Polished black is the classic, and shows gilt or silver lettering at its clearest. Vizac Blue is a soft blue-grey that sits quietly in Scottish light. Tropical green is deep and understated. Rustic Scottish granite is left with a natural split face and pitched edges.
Granite keeps its polish and its lettering for generations, which is why it is the usual choice in Scotland. Colours always look different outdoors, so we'd encourage you to see them in daylight at the yard. Our granite colours guide goes into more detail.
When nothing standard feels right, we design with you from a blank sheet, shape, stone, carving and lettering. We'll draw it, price it honestly, and take as long as you need.
“We cannot thank Charles and his team enough for creating such a beautiful headstone for our precious granddaughter.”
Everything: the stone, all lettering, photography, the flower vase, delivery, council fees and VAT. The price we quote is the price you pay, nothing appears later.
Usually, yes. Bring a photograph, or tell us the cemetery and lair, and we'll go and look. Matching granite colour, shape and lettering style is a regular part of our work.
Most councils set rules on memorial sizes and foundations. We know the regulations for cemeteries across Glasgow and the surrounding areas, and we handle the permit for you, so anything we propose will already comply.
It varies with the design, the granite and the council's permit times. We'll give you an honest estimate when we agree the design, and keep you informed throughout.
The ground usually needs several months to settle before a new memorial is fixed, and cemeteries set their own guidance. You can choose and design the memorial in the meantime, so it's ready when the lair is. More on timing.
Yes. We make small granite cremation memorials, lawn markers and plaques, and we can add a name to an existing family stone where ashes have been interred in the lair.
